Editorial methodology

Sources, calculations and explicit limits.

We separate observed facts, legal propositions and statistical interpretations. Search demand helps choose questions; it does not determine their answers.

Research and drafting

Automated research and writing tools consult identified primary sources and prepare a proposition ledger. Legal explanations should identify relevant dates, jurisdiction, exceptions and factual dependencies. Missing support is a reason to narrow a statement or stop publication, not to fill a gap from memory.

What automated review actually checks

The article publication workflow requires an explicitly automated receipt describing the source evidence, reasoning and limits for each registered claim. It records source retrieval times and binds the review to hashes of the article, its claim ledger and authority inputs. Tests check the receipt structure, declared coverage, content changes and publication boundaries.

A valid receipt means those programmed conditions passed. It does not mechanically prove that a quotation supports a conclusion, detect every omitted proposition, or establish current law. The system cannot guarantee complete research, legal accuracy, independence or professional judgment. Routine owner approval is not required; no human review should be inferred.

Limits of review records

Some older articles predate the article-bound automated receipt workflow. Their historical clearance is not a new automated review. Private reviewer records are internal accountability records, not public evidence of expertise. The public evidence is the source trail and reproducible work, which readers can examine and challenge independently.

Data analysis

Complaint datasets measure reporting activity, not verified events or unique people. The FTC and FCC are analyzed separately. Missing data is not treated as zero, and a seven-day observation window does not establish that all later releases have arrived. Correlation alone cannot distinguish changes in calls from changes in filing behavior. See the data hub for definitions, downloads and calculation notes.

Release and correction checks

Build checks scan public output for prohibited intake and telephone details, validate links and metadata, and test production and staging boundaries. These checks cover presentation and declared inputs, not the truth of every sentence. Material changes are documented in the correction record. There is currently no public submission channel.
